How do I measure my firebox? The critical dimensions are obtained by measuring the actual firebox opening, left to right and up and down. Also, the distance from the bottom of the opening to the floor, if the firebox is raised off the floor. The distance from the top of the firebox opening to the ceiling is also needed if an Over Mantel is required.

What colors do your fireplaces come in? Our cast stone resembles cut limestone. Standard colors are off- white & buff. We also have an old world travertine finish. Cast stone will have naturally occurring variations in color, formation and matrix inherent with any natural product. As in art and nature, subtle variations in material enhance the beauty of Fireplace Mantels creation. Cast stone can be antiqued, faux finished or distressed to give it the patina of age. We do not do this at the factory. Sealing is highly recommended since all cast stone is porous and subject to staining. Any high quality, clear, matte finish stone sealer may be used.

What is the fireplace mantel made of? Basically, cast stone is man-made limestone, a process that has been around for over 600 years. Each piece is hand made and hand finished for clarity and beauty. This is a labor intensive process, but it is worth it, for the finished cast stone fireplace mantel is so similar to cut limestone it is hard to tell the difference and the price is a fraction of the cost of cut limestone.  No finish is required.  Cast Stone is a non-combustible product and can be used directly next to the firebox opening.  This eliminates the need and cost of other interior surrounds that are necessary with a wood or plaster mantel.

How durable is a cast stone fireplace surround? Some of the oldest monuments in existence were made using the same basic technique that DeVinci cast stone uses to produce our fireplace mantels, which means that your fireplace mantel will be just as stunning and functional in a hundred years as it is today.

Do you do custom work? Yes, we produce custom products all the time if you are unable to find a style you are looking for in DeVinci’s product line, you can furnish a photo, sketch or drawing and some dimensions. We will be happy to give you a bid on your custom design.

Can I mix and match headers and legs? Yes, some cast stone fireplace headers and fireplace legs are interchangeable.

Why do I need filler panels? Filler panels are used to cover the area between the firebox opening & the surround when the desired cast stone fireplace mantel is larger than the firebox. Other materials can be used such as marble, granite or tile. (Obtained by others)

Can I buy fireplace mantel without filler panels? Yes, all of DeVinci Cast Stone Fireplace Mantels components can be bought separately.

What can be done if the firebox opening does not fit your situation? If the cast stone fireplace mantel you desire does not appear to fit the drawings technical specifications, call us.
